Information Kit ~ Retailers, Food Services and Manufacturers |

A business that sells food or provides food as part of a service is a food business for the purpose of the Food Act 2001. Food businesses are required to comply with the food safety requirements of Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. A Food Safety Information Kit is available to assist food businesses understand how food safety legislation applies to them. The kit includes information prepared by the Department of Health and Food Standard Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). KIT CONTENTS
Printed copies of the kit can be obtained from your local council or the Food Policy & Programs Branch. Also available is a kit designed specifically for Charities and community organisations. For further advice on the Food Safety Standards contact the Environmental Health Officer at the your local Council office. The Local Government Association website will help you to locate the Council for a particular town or suburb. The following additional information is not included in this kit but is available online:
