Public and Environmental Health Council (PEHC)

Members

The PEHC consists of six Members and six Deputy Members who have extensive knowledge and experience in Public and Environmental Health.

Members are appointed for a term of 3 years.

  • The Presiding Member is a member of the staff of the Department of Health.
  • Two Members are selected by the Minister from a panel of five nominated by the Executive Council of the Local Government Association of SA (LGA).
  • Two Members are nominated by the Minister, being persons who are qualified in, and have extensive experience in public and environmental health.
  • One Member is an officer or employee of a local council, selected by the Minister from a panel of three nominated by the South Australian Branch of Environmental Health Australia (EHA) (formerly the Australian Institute of Environmental Health).
