Model Standing Drug Orders (SDOs)

Model Standing Drug Orders (SDOs) have been developed by the Immunisation Section, SA Health, for use by nurses in South Australia providing a community immunisation program run by a local council or health service. The SDOs are consistent with the NHMRC Australian Immunisation Handbook – 9th Edition 2008 to assist immunisation nurses as best practice principles.

The Immunisation Section also recommends that each nurse administering the vaccines counter sign the Model Endorsement for Standing Drug Orders & Sign off page.
