Applied Environmental Health |
|
|
Applied Environmental Health (AEH) has a major role in developing policy and providing advice to other agencies and the public to prevent or minimise the adverse health effects of environmental hazards in the South Australian community. Food safety, regulation of drugs and poisons, sale of tobacco to minors, wastewater disposal and the formulation of codes of practice are areas in which the Service has legislative responsibility. AEH's environmental responsibility focuses on the health impact of the human environment in terms of food, air, water, soil and chemical use and monitors, controls or advises on a wide range of potential physical, chemical and biological hazards.
