Legionella Public Consultation Package

To help reduce the incidence of community acquired legionellosis (Legionnaires’ Disease) the Department of Health has undertaken a review of the Public and Environmental Health Regulations with the view to implement regulatory controls. A detailed explanation of the reasons and the processes followed are provided in  “Discussion paper on proposed amendments to the Public and Environmental Health Regulations for the control of Legionella organisms in manufactured water systems”.

A copy of the following two documents are also enclosed with this package:

Organisations with an interest in this matter were invited to provide comment on the Draft Regulations and the Legionella Standard by the 30th June 2006.
