Under the Public and Environmental Health Act 1987, every local
council is required under the legislation to submit a report to the
Public and Environmental Health Council for each financial year. The
council reports include information on:
-
the standard of public and environmental health in the local council's
area; and
-
details of the measures that the local council has taken for the
protection of public health as defined under Part 3 of the Act
Local Government Association website
The Department of Health submits a report to the Minister for Health on
the operation of this Act during each financial year that includes a
report on the standard of public and environmental health in the State
generally. The Minister submits the report to each House of Parliament.
