SORRY DAY – A NATIONAL DAY OF HEALING 
journey of healing
Tents will be erected around the fountain representing the Missions and homes in South Australia. There will be a free BBQ, dancing & music, hand-outs and posters/project information on these places and issues relating to the stolen generations will be available for school students and the general public.

RECONCILIATION YOUTH DISCO

This popular disco is an annual highlight for Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people under 18 and their families. Come and party with loads of entertainment including DJs, break dancing and deadly cultural performances. Grab a bite, grab some resources,and dance into the evening.

StevieGoldsmith and family will get you up and involved in a fantastic performance of traditional songs and rhythms, dancing, story-telling, and of course the incredible sounds of the Didgeridu (Yidaki). Stephanie Gollan will use macaroni in the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Island flags to help you make a Reconciliation necklace or bracelet. Sausage sizzle also provided.

Migration Museum - Whose History? (yr 3-10, 90mins) examines how
history is constructed and recorded, who is included and who is left out. Impact of European Settlement (yr 5-12, 2hrs) is a powerful and challenging role-play that examines the other side of South Australia’s history.

RECONCILIATION HANDSHAKE CEREMONY & BBQ LUNCH

The University of Adelaide commissioned a sculpture by artists Karen Casey and Darryl Cowie to mark its Reconciliation process. The sculpture concept is based on the imprint of a handshake. Prior to the lunch, a ceremonial Reconciliation handshake will be taken by the signatories of the University of Adelaide Reconciliation Statement. Following lunch,community members are invited to “do a handshake” as part of their commitment to Reconciliation. CASM performers will provide music.

of SISSY and shows by Kaboobie and Malt Biscuit. SISSY is a rare
insight into a sub-culture and explores the bond between the black sisterhood - an expression of gay Indigenous identity. Charlene, Anna Mae and Ella are 3 sistergirls who glam up the nightlife in Perth.
