Legislation

•  Reproductive Technology (Clinical Practices) Act 1988 (SA), Legislation that governs assisted reproductive technology practice in South Australia.

•  Reproductive Technology (Code of Ethical Clinical Practice) Regulations 1995, Regulations that govern clinical practice in South Australia.

•  Family Relationships Act (SA) 1975, Legislation that governs issues relating to families. This includes legislation on surrogacy arrangements.

• Adoption Act 1988 (SA), Legislation that governs adoption practice in South Australia.
•  Substitute Parent Agreements Act 1994 (ACT), Legislation in the Australian Capital Territory that allows surrogacy arrangements to occur under certain conditions.
•  Infertility Treatment Act 1995 (Vic) Victorian legislation on reproductive technology.
•  Human Reproductive Technology Act 1991(WA), Western Australian legislation on reproductive technology.
•  Human Tissue Act (NSW) 1983, Legislation in New South Wales that includes sections on reproductive technology practice. This legislation is currently under review by the NSW parliament.

Government Bodies

•  National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), This site provides online viewing of various publications of the NHMRC as well as media releases. The section on ethics includes articles on genetics, cloning and client privacy.
•  South Australian Department of Health, Includes information on services provided by the Department plus links to relevant departmental sites.
•  Fertility Society of Australia, Gives the objectives of the Society and provides many relevant links for those interested in infertility.
•  Infertility Treatment Authority, The Infertility Treatment Authority is the statutory body established by the Victorian Parliament to administer the regulation of infertility services and research into infertility within the State of Victoria, Australia. It has been established under the provisions of the Infertility Treatment Act 1995.

Support Groups

•  OASIS Infertility Support Inc, was a non-profit making, self help and support group to give information on all aspects of infertility, emotional support and understanding and advice on alternative ways of parenting or childless living. Oasis was managed by a committee on a purely voluntary basis but has now been dissolved due to lack of volunteers to run it and a decline in people accessing their services.  Oasis will continue as a chapter of ACCESS in name only to continue the support telephone line on 8223 7434.  Website: http://www.chariot.net.au/~oasissupport/
•  ACCESS, This is a national infertility network in Australia. The site provides information and membership details. Fact sheets can be sent for a fee.
• SANDS (SA) Inc, SANDS is a self help volunteer organisation offering mutual support to parents who have suffered reproductive loss, either by miscarriage, a pregnancy terminated for genetic or medical reasons, stillbirth or neonatal death.  support is offered through monthly support meetings and informal gatherings, monthly newsletters, a web site, a library service, brochures and information sheets, and 7 day telephone support.
• Endometriosis Awareness Web Site, This is an excellent site on endometriosis and has in fact won an award for its layout and content. It contains a host of information, links to relevant associations, a mailing list and a links page.
•  Victorian Endometriosis Association, This site includes a useful glossary of medical terms specifically in regards to endometriosis but it can be useful for looking up more generic terms also.
•  Tasmanian Endometriosis Association, There is a lot of information on endometriosis in this site. A selection of articles from past newsletters is also included.
•  Donor Conception Support Group, Included in this site is information on the group and some articles by people who have been a part of the group.
•  Spermatology WWW Home Page, A site dedicated to exploring issues of male infertility.
•  The Australian Infertility Support Group (AISG), The Australian Infertility Support Group (AISG) is a support group for people living in Australia and New Zealand who are dealing with infertility.

•  Andrology Australia (Australian Centre of Excellence in Male Reproductive Health) aims to enhance community and health professional knowledge in targeted areas of male reproductive health.  This web site is designed to provide quality information on male specific health issues.  Additional to this is an online resource for the medical community which provides access to quality evidence-based information which can be found at www.drandrologyaustralia.org 
•  Australian Infertility Links, A good list of sites from around Australia. It includes a list of Australian reproductive technology clinics' sites.
• The Center for Genetics and Society, Oakland, USA www.genetics-and-society.org.   is a non-profit information and public affairs organization working to encourage responsible uses and effective societal governance of the new human genetic and reproductive technologies. 
•  International Infertility Links, A large number of links available from the USA and Europe. It also includes a list of newsgroups focussed on a variety of infertility issues.
•  Infertility Dictionary, This is a useful resource for people wanting to understand the terms used in the field of reproductive technology.
•  San Francisco Centre of Reproductive Medicine, This site is highly recommended for people wanting to find out exactly what happens when a woman undergoes IVF treatment.  A virtual tour and a photo gallery guide browsers through the process.   Note:  some of the terminology used is American such as 'reproductive endocrinologist'.  However the IVF process remains the same.
•  Fertile Thoughts, Included on this site is a book on infertility, chat rooms and general information.
•  The Australian Infertility Support Group (AISG), The Australian Infertility Support Group (AISG) is a support group for people living in Australia and New Zealand who are dealing with infertility.
•  International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCIID), Fertility industry news, chat rooms and links to professional services and non-profit organisations.

• Western Australia launched a Voluntary Register of Information about Donation in Assisted Reproduction late in 2002.  The  website for this Voluntary Register is www.voluntaryregister.health.wa.gov.au.
